In the case of our wheel sensors, the principle of the inductive proximity switch was further developed and adapted for use in railway infrastructure. These non-contact sensors are attached to the rail and detect the metallic flanges of the wheels of passing rail vehicles. These characteristics are the key to a wide range of applications from simple switching and positioning tasks to direction detection and axle counting.
