The level crossing “Hurdnagelstraße” on the Tübingen – Sigmaringen line is passed by trains travelling at speeds of up to 120 km/h.
Since the design of the level crossing as a roundabout does not exist as an example in the railway guidelines, a special safety assessment was necessary at the approval planning stage.
PINTSCH GmbH was commissioned with the planning and implementation of the safety assessment.
For the first time, the evidence of safety was successfully provided using a microscopic traffic flow simulation.
The implementation planning of the control and safety technology as well as the construction engineering were also delivered by PINTSCH GmbH.
